The Story

I took a vacation in Crested Butte, Colorado in 2013 hoping to capture some great mountain scenes. While spending the day visiting the local mountain towns and traveling through the various mountain passes I was scouting for a great sunset location. Overlooking Mt. Belleview on Gothic Road, this location stood out to me. When I first got to the location there were no clouds to be seen, but I waited it out and a few started to appear from the left side of the overlook. They came in quickly as the sun started setting creating a bright pink and orange sky. Luckily for me the wind stayed down as I was able to capture the lupines, grasses, and sunflowers in the foreground. While the sun was setting I could hear a pack of coyotes calling to each other from across the valley.
